I worked all last year at a large privately owned extended care facility near these greenhouses in South Delta, and often wondered about the lives of those who toiled therein. Temporary cheap imported labour has now become a common thing in BC. At that care facility where I worked (a horror story in itself) the owners complained that a labour shortage had delayed its construction. Whenever I hear the words 'labour shortage' I mentally add the word 'cheap' in front of the word 'labour'. Thank you for this article.
